Technique For The Week from Bushi Dojo

CHUDAN WARI-UKE (Middle split block)

The description in "Essence of Shorin-Ryu" is simple : this block is formed
by using chudan soto-uke (Middle outward block) with both forearms.

Here is a great block, that is also one of those technique's
that can show us where we need to emphasize the snaping of the wrist
while demanding we acknowledge that the muscles under the arm (latimus
dorsi) are tensed when the force is focused on contact (inhale on a block).

So for some forearm strenghting, wrist snapping and lat-tensing, I submit
a couple dozen CHUDAN WARI-UKE in Jigotai-dachi or Zenkutsu-dachi even white
belts can enjoy the benefits of this powerful trifecta of the double chest
block.
