Kick-Snap Back Action

Onegai-shimasu Hanshi, Kyoshi, Sensei, Shihan and Fellow Deshi,

Hanshi recently mentioned that when he was police officer and detective in New York City the snap back action used in our kicking saved his life on multiple occasions. While it should suffice for us that snapping the foot back in kicking is the way we kick, Hanshi’s sharing this information should make sure that we place the proper emphasis on this critical aspect of this important technique.
