Alignment

Alignment of the proper posture is critical
to preventing injury and maximum use of the
techniques. From a strong foundation it is
important to align the knee over the foot.

Jigotai-dachi and zenkutsu-dachi dictates
that the knee must be properly placed.
The stances may be accomplished by placing
the toes against a wall and assuming the
posture. This creates the proper alignment.
An instructor will explain this further.

Measuring the stances is described in the
three texts: Okinawan Karate-Do, Shorin-Ryu
Q & A Book and Building Warrior Spirit.

Avoid injuries, research this well.

Arigato,
Kyoshi Robert Scaglione.
